Idiyappam is a delicacy in Kerala, it’s a steamed rice noodle put together with a sweet filling inside!

Deseed jamun and blend it.

Take rice powder, add salt, jamun paste, hot water (add gradually) and knead it well with a spoon to form a chapathi-like dough.

Bring the dough to a cylindrical shape so that it fits well in the noodle maker.

Squeeze the dough using a noodle maker into the steamer - bottom layer.

Add coconut and jaggery onto the bottom noodle layer.

Squeeze dough again to cover - top layer.

Steam for 10 mins and top it up with ghee (optional)! Enjoy it hot! :)

Tips

You can also top it with some mango jam for a sweet twist! In that case skip the jaggery in the filling, just add coconut.
