Grate coconut and blend it with 1 cup water.

Strain to get the first milk (thick coconut milk).

Add back coconut bit after sieving into blender and blend again with 1 cup water & sieve - second milk (light coconut milk).
Tips
First milk is thicker than second milk, they’re always used at different points in recipes, so store them separately.
Leftover coconut scrap can be dried and used as coconut flour - popular in baking cookies!
